Coming this recession: Lemonademovie.com
Lemonademovie.com, the brainchild of Erik Proulx of Please Feed the Animals, is coming soon. It’s a new site for Erik's upcoming documentary about laid off ad industry people who’ve reinvented themselves or pursued their true loves after losing their jobs. I’ve seen the trailer and from the looks of it the film, it is inspiring, personal and beautifully shot. To the team’s credit, they’re not going the festival route, but instead want to make sure that everyone and anyone can see the movie. The site should launch today (fingers crossed), with the film to follow in a month or two. Kudos to Eric (writer/producer); Jen McKenzie (producer); Marc Colucci at Picture Park, who directed; and Peter Nelson, the DP who shot Art & Copy and Sicko with Michael Moore. Andre Betz of Bug Editorial (who doesn't know him?) is cutting the film as you read this. The site experience will be interactive with opportunities to upload your own story, courtesy of Darrel Whitlaw. A lot of these folks met via Twitter, yet one more advantage of social media.
If the site's not up when you hit the link later today, please keep trying or come back tomorrow. It should be worth it. If there's a delay, we'll let you know.
Shown in the image from the movie, Kevin Kearns, a hugely talented art director and painter with whom I had the privilege of working many years ago.
