Our lives, captured by the cover of the New Yorker

Afraid this New Yorker cover is a mirror we don't want to look into. Sad to admit this has become our lives. Definitely leaving my phone home tonight after seeing this.

So true, I saw Dance Africa at the Harris Theater last night and my fiance and I both left our cell phones at home. It was refreshing, however, somewhat like we had both lost a pinky or so...

It's such a ridiculous (addicting) reality. Sad.

the scariest part is that their kids are nowhere to be found and the parents are hypnotized by tweets.

I’m guilty of this too. However, a redeeming thought may be that the parents’ iPhones were being used to send video of the kids, all decked out in their cute costumes, to lonely grandparents many miles away... Grandparents that now have the opportunity to virtually experience Halloween night with those they love and cherish. Technology isn’t the problem. Our mindset is the problem. Thanks, Edward, for reminding us.

The work of Chris Ware is remarkable--- the minute I saw this cover I felt like I was seeing a masterpiece. Content and execution are so incredibly well rendered--- what a gem.
