A miniature graduate course on how to think about "designing" a business or growing an existing one. You could start with technology. You could start with gut instinct. But you may want to start with design thinking.

There is much you can learn from It Gets Better. Creating content, inviting participation, generating PR, inspiring word-of-mouth, merchandising and product sales, SEO, and the fact that big media ideas (including national TV spots) emanate from the web. Even non cause oriented brands and marketers can steal a chapter from IGBP.

Hard to imagine this video has so few views. And that it's from 2008. Innovation is about connections and diversity. In past companies innovated for consumers. Excited to see Mullen's new Fage spot with Willem Dafoe as VO. Congrats to my colleagues who made this beautiful spot.

Wanted to give a shout out to Luc and Sallie Durette who make kaleidoscopes. Was given a beautiful handmade creation of theirs as a gift by the University of Oregon's School of Journalism and Communication. It is truly a work of art. Shot this with my iPhone as the lens is the same size as the opening in the viewfinder of the kaleidoscope. Should you need a special gift for someone or something to take you away from the digital screen for awhile, check them out. Oh, and the music is by Phillip Glass.  Hope he doesn't mind.
